Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Policy
As a non-profit serving a diverse global population with a variety of autonomic nervous system disorders, Dysautonomia International is committed to creating an environment that is diverse, inclusive, and equitable where all staff, volunteers and dysautonomia community members are treated with respect and dignity.
We celebrate the rich diversity of the dysautonomia patient community, and we do not tolerate discrimination, biases, harassment, or bullying of any kind towards our staff, volunteers, dysautonomia community members, or others.
For the purposes of this statement, diversity refers to race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, gender expression, age, disability, veteran or socio-economic status. Inclusion is valuing, respecting, and encouraging the full participation of each individual in the mission and leadership of the organization. Equity is a process that ensures all people have the opportunity to contribute, develop, and grow despite historical and current inequities.
As an organization and Board of Directors, we agree to be guided by these principles in our vision, mission, strategic planning, programming, and governance.
